Reading Real Korean
Try reading these common phrases. Sound out each syllable block, then say the whole phrase: ■ 안녕하세요 → an-nyeong-ha-se-yo (Hello) ■ 감사합니다 → gam-sa-ham-ni-da (Thank you) ■ 죄송합니다 → joe-song-ham-ni-da (I'm sorry) ■ 저는 ___이에요/예요 → jeo-neun ___-i-e-yo/ye-yo (I am ___) ■ 만나서 반갑습니다 → man-na-seo ban-gap-seum-ni-da (Nice to meet you) ■ 물 주세요 → mul ju-se-yo (Water, please) ■ 맛있어요! → ma-si-sseo-yo! (It's delicious!) ■ 사랑해요 → sa-rang-hae-yo (I love you) Notice how pronunciation rules come into play: • 감사합니다: ㅂ before ㄴ → [ㅁ], so "hamnida" • 맛있어요: ㅅ connects to 있 via liaison
